Background:
Laura is an Associate Professor in the School of Nurse Anesthesia. She completed her DNAP with the first doctoral class at Bryan College of Health Sciences in 2017. She continues her clinical practice at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha while joining as faculty at the college in 2024. Laura received her BSN from Bryan College of Health Sciences in 2012. She worked in the Cardiovascular Surgery Intensive Care Unit at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Fraynd demonstrates her passion for nurse anesthesia through involvement with the Nebraska Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Upon joining the board in 2020, she has served as Public Relations Chair and won a national award from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for Best Promotional Effort in 2023. Further, she assisted in the successful opposition to the Anesthesia Assistant 407 licensure proposal in Nebraska May 2022 to March 2023. She served as President-Elect 2022-2024 and was elected President of the association 2024-2026.
