Transfer FAQ

Where do I start in the transfer process? Do I have to wait until prerequisites are done?

As a transfer student you would follow the same process as any other student looking to attend Bryan College of Health Sciences. We do not have any prerequisites before you apply. We offer all of the general education courses you need here so you can apply any time! We have an easy online application that you can access and submit in the comfort of your own home. Make sure to send in all transcripts from high schools and colleges previously attended!

If I transfer in courses does it speed up my time at Bryan?

You don't have to retake courses that are accepted for transfer into your program, but it doesn't speed up your time here. In our clinically based programs like nursing and sonography, there are only a certain number of spots available each semester so the program will be four years for nursing, four for cardiac and vascular sonography and 3.5 years for Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Transfer courses lessen your load each semester so you have more time to be involved, work, etc.

What are my housing options?

Here at Bryan we do not have your traditional residence halls on campus. We do have an event here at Bryan that connects you with other students looking for possible roommates, as well as a great list of housing options around town where many Bryan students live!

Where can I find information on Tuition and Financial Aid?

Check out our financial aid web page! Here you can find information on scholarships, tuition and fees, as well as student loan opportunities.

Do you have on campus dining or meal plans?

Since we are connected to Bryan Medical Center we are able to use their full service cafeteria. As a student you will get a 30% discount with your student badge. We do not have set meal plans. Our dining services do offer "gift cards" that you can load money onto to use in the cafeteria or cafe at both Bryan East and Bryan West locations.

What should I expect in terms of parking?

As a Bryan student we offer FREE parking with the use of our parking passes that will be distributed at orientation. We have a large parking lot on the east side of the building. We also have parking available on the 2nd and 3rd floor in garage B of the hospital on east campus and garage parking on west campus. The garages have a direct concourse that leads you straight to the Medical Center.

I don't have time to visit Bryan, do you come to other campuses like UNL, UNO or SCC?

Yes! If you are a current student at UNL, make an appointment through the Explore Center and we can meet there to discuss transferring to Bryan.

We also regularly visit UNO, you can make an appointment with the Health Careers Resource Center and Southeast Community College each month so check with the advising center on when our next visit will be.
